After glancing through the top four #1 seeds and not seeing the San Diego State Aztecs in this year's March Madness bracket, I made note and figured they were a #2 seed. This made sense. Then I looked through all the #2 seeds and thought, "Wow, they were dropped to a 3?".
Out of the corner of my eye a #4 was begging for my attention. There they were, Los Atzecs, snubbed at a #4 seed. I'm confident they will avenge this, but having to face the University of Arizona Wildcats in round 3 will not do them any favors.
The 'Cats are headed to San Diego in a Region that also features Gonzaga. Arizona is a top seed and deservedly so. At 30-4, they've dominated the Pac-12 conference with only 3 losses in the regular season - all on the road - and a loss to UCLA in the Pac-12 Tournament Final, a game with little meaning. One of those losses in the 'Cats resume is from the Arizona State University Sun Devils, the alma matter of yours truly.
The Devils are having a hell of a time (pun intended) putting wins together of late. They are losers of 5 of their last 7 and are lucky to be in the big dance at all. Still with Jahii Carson, a lock to be a top NBA pick, at point guard, the Devils could do some damage.
Other things the Westside's got our eyes on, UCLA, the New Mexico v Stanford matchup and the Oregon Ducks.
Oh, and don't count out Harvard. Let's just say, I've got a feeling... Bring on the Madness.
